An independent set of eyes on your house — from a builder with 20+ years on the ground who isn't bidding the job, and therefore has nothing to sell you.
Why a consultation
That's the whole idea. When a contractor climbs up to "take a look," they're doing two jobs at once — diagnosing the problem and pricing the work they hope to sell you. Those two jobs pull in opposite directions.
On a consult, we're not bidding the work. There's nothing to sell you, so there's no reason to find problems that aren't there — or to miss the cheap fix that would have solved it.
Sound familiar?
$14,000 for a roof when you suspected a repair. We'll tell you which one it actually is — and if the quote is fair, we'll say that too.
Most leaks aren't where the stain is. We trace it to the flashing, transition or penetration that's actually letting water in.
A home inspector checks boxes. A builder tells you what the repairs will cost you and which ones are deal-breakers.
Before demolition, find out what's holding the house up — and what it takes to carry that load properly.
A crack, a sag, a stain, a smell. Get a straight answer on whether it's cosmetic, urgent, or somewhere in between.
When every contractor says something different, the tiebreaker should be someone who isn't competing for the job.
Not a sales pitch and not a stack of jargon. A consult ends with you understanding your own house well enough to make the call yourself.
Sometimes the answer is "that quote is fair — go ahead." Sometimes it's "that's a $400 flashing repair, not a $14,000 replacement." Either way you paid for the truth once instead of guessing with five figures on the line.

Questions
Specialized independent evaluations carry a flat fee — the roof consult is $299.99, for example — and we always quote it up front before we schedule. If you're calling about work you want us to actually do, the initial walkthrough and pricing conversation is part of the estimate.
No. On a consult we're not bidding the work, and that's the point. If you want us to do the job afterward that's a separate conversation you start — not one we push.
A plain-language read on what's really going on, photo documentation of the findings, and a clear sense of what's urgent, what can wait, and roughly what it should cost.
Then skip the consult — head over to construction and we'll come price the job.
